Research a list

Check a prospect list before your sales team spends time on it

A list can be full of real businesses and still be a poor match for your sale. We check a bought list, an event export or an inherited spreadsheet against the criteria that make an account worth approaching, before anyone works it.

What your team receives

We confirm who each company actually is and whether it fits, flag possible duplicates of accounts you already hold, and research what the list is missing. Your team receives the accepted records, the exclusions and the review cases, each with the reason.

  • Company identity and site matches, where they can be established
  • Each row checked against the agreed market, business model and exclusions
  • Researched fields, the source of each, and the score with its reasons
  • The relevant contacts, with email status shown separately, where included
  • An agreed import or export, with the uncertain matches held for review rather than written

What we need to get started

Share the list, where it came from and what you need from it. We agree the fields to research, how to treat parent companies and individual sites, and how to compare the list with the records you already hold. We can start with a sample to check the approach.

Fictional example

A broad industrial list, checked row by row

A fictional supplier list has Meridian down as "wholesale". Research shows industrial distribution, maintenance products and trade ordering, so it fits the sample criteria and scores 84. A consumer-only retailer on the same list is excluded under the same rules. A row whose company cannot be identified stays in review instead of being imported.

What the research cannot establish

A row that is ready to import is not automatically eligible for outreach. Where the list came from, your exclusions and the contact rules still apply. Missing fields are not guessed, and a company that cannot be matched never silently updates an existing account.

What happens after the first delivery

After the sample is reviewed we process the agreed list and deliver the accepted records. The same criteria can screen future lists, so every import gets the same check.

Questions

Asked before people buy this.

Short answers. The full list covers setup, CRM connections, review and cost.

What might stay unknown?
Some facts cannot be confirmed from public sources, some companies have a small digital footprint, and some roles cannot be found or have no verifiable email. In those cases the field stays blank and is marked as not found or not verified. We would rather show a gap than guess.
How is the cost worked out?
From the work involved: how many companies and contacts, how deep the research goes, and which parts keep running week to week. There is no published price list. After a conversation about your target market we come back with a proposal that sets this out.
What happens to the contacts already in our CRM?
They are checked, not replaced. We confirm whether each person is still in the role, match them to a buying role, verify the email where we can, and fill the agreed gaps. People who have moved on are flagged. Nothing your team relies on is overwritten unless a rule we agreed says it should be.
What gets reviewed before it is delivered or sent?
Anything you ask to see first. Many customers review the first batches of researched companies before the rest runs. Outreach only runs if you switch it on, from your own mailboxes, with templates and lists you approved. Possible duplicates and anything we are unsure about are held for review rather than written to the CRM.
