Privacy policy
AlignIQx is a sales and marketing consulting practice of Corner Milestone, run by Matthew Steele, and this policy explains what information we gather when you visit www.aligniqx.com or get in touch with us, why we hold it, who we share it with and the choices you have over it. We have tried to write it plainly rather than in the usual legal shorthand, and if anything here is unclear you are welcome to write to us at matthew.steele@aligniqx.com and ask.
Who is responsible for your information
AlignIQx, a practice of Corner Milestone, is responsible for the personal information described in this policy, and the person accountable for it is Matthew Steele, who can be reached at matthew.steele@aligniqx.com.
The information you choose to give us
When you enter your work email into the personalisation prompt on the site, you are asking us to research your organisation for you, and so we take that email address, confirm that it is a genuine business address rather than a personal one (which we do in part by sending a one-time code to it), and then draw together publicly available information and third-party business data about your company in order to show you a tailored view of what the service would look like applied to your own accounts. We keep the email address you entered and the research it produced so that the page stays useful to you, and the personalised version of the page is also stored locally in your own browser so that it is still there when you come back; you can wipe that local copy at any time using the "Clear personalised data" link in the footer.
When you complete the enquiry form, you give us your name, your company, your work email, an indication of how many companies and contacts sit in your CRM, optionally the CRM platform you use, and anything else you choose to add in the message field, all of which we use to understand the shape of your database, to come back to you with how an engagement would fit, to prepare a proposal and to arrange a discovery call. We do not publish pricing on the site, so the figures you share about the size of your CRM are used only internally to work out the right scale of engagement for you, and they are never shown back to other visitors.
Information collected automatically
We use a privacy-focused measurement that counts page views and visits in aggregate so that we can see which parts of the site are useful, and it does not set cookies, does not follow you from one website to another, and is not used to build a profile of you as an individual.
How we use your information
We use the information you give us to respond to you, to research and personalise what we show you when you ask us to, to prepare proposals and arrange conversations, to keep the site working and secure, and to understand in aggregate how it is used. Where the law requires a lawful basis for this, for example under United Kingdom and European Union data protection law, we rely on your consent when you willingly enter your details into the personalisation prompt or the enquiry form, and on our legitimate interest in running and improving a business website and in responding to the people who approach us, balanced against your own interests and rights.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers who make the site work, which includes the company that hosts the site and measures its traffic, the providers who deliver our email and store enquiries on our behalf, and the providers of the business information we draw on to research your company, and each of these is permitted to use your information only to provide their service to us and not for their own separate purposes. We may also disclose information where we are required to by law or where it is necessary to protect our rights.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details and the records of personalised research for as long as we are in conversation with you and for a reasonable period afterwards, so that we can pick up where we left off, and we remove or anonymise information once it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal information, which generally include the right to ask for a copy of what we hold, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw any consent you have given. To exercise any of these, please write to matthew.steele@aligniqx.com and we will respond within the time the law allows. You can also clear the personalised version of the site held in your browser at any time using the "Clear personalised data" link in the footer. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union and you believe we have not handled your information properly, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Where your information is processed
The site is offered to businesses in Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States, and because it is delivered over the internet your information may be processed in a country other than your own; wherever it is processed, we expect it to be handled in line with this policy and with the protections the law requires.
Children
The site is intended for businesses and the people who work in them, it is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of sixteen.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy from time to time as the site and the way we work change, and when we do we will revise the date shown at the top, so it is worth glancing at that date when you return.
Contact
If you have any question about this policy or about how we look after your information, please write to Matthew Steele at matthew.steele@aligniqx.com.
